February 22, 201016 yr hey mite,i make knives out of them but have used them for free standing bases for a grinder and have made cowboy woks out of a few.from what i have read they are 1080 steel. and take a fine edge.i'm sure outhers will chime in on outher ideas,jimmy
February 22, 201016 yr They make for a nice horseshoeing stand. Weld a pipe in the middle and cap the top. It's a lot better than you holding their feet up.

February 22, 201016 yr For those of us who haven't had our right to bear arms restricted , they make great targets. Hang a bell behind the center hole, and you can hear the different ring when you get a "bullseye".

February 22, 201016 yr I used a serrated disc to make guillotine dies for the joint in making pipe bamboo. It cuts a nice score mark prior to upsetting the joint.

Thats the first time I have heard the term "discada" My latina friends call it a "fritanga". Nice dutchie, you can feed an army out of a few of those.

February 25, 201016 yr They make excellent chopping tools also. Such as meat cleavers and hoes. I have also seen them turned into spades and trowels.
