August 26, 200916 yr sweet hawk, i just bought a ball peen hammer to make a hawk out of, i dount it will look that good but as long as it works when it needs and my boys will be right happy with what i can make them and if it keeps them alive in the sand box then i dosent really matter how it looks..................but nice would be good...lol great job dude!
October 26, 200916 yr Author I put cold bluing on them and then soak in bleach for about 10 minutes. When you take it out of the bleach it will be rusty. Just scotch brite it off and oil it good.
December 8, 200916 yr S. WIllis, Do you redrift the eye to a more traditional teardrop? The work looks great and I have a couple of old beat up ball peens that I am thinking of retooling. That might be the trick for around camp for kindling. Brian
