July 1, 200916 yr I wanted to do something just for fun, so this was for my lawn. It loves to greet visitors coming up my walk! Body is sheet steel cold formed and welded, everything else is forged then welded to the body.New to the forum so I hope the pics work!!
July 1, 200916 yr Howdy from East TEXAS!! and welcome to IFI!! Yep, pics do work, and that is nice work you do. Man is TN having a membership drive for IFI??! Seem there have been a bunch from that fine state joining here lately. Glad to have ya. Not sure how much of the site you have visited but just make sure you have plenty to eat and drink when you go cruising in here, and let some one know where you are! Once again, welcome.
July 1, 200916 yr I LIKE it! Deb would kill me if I made one, she's not too crazy about spiders. What's it's size? Welcome aboard, you're going to fit right in here. Frosty
July 1, 200916 yr Author Thanks, Thomas! IFI has been getting more popular with us here in east TN by "word of mouth". Hope to learn a lot from everyone and will help anyone I can.
July 1, 200916 yr Author If you measure across it's about 3 feet, and the tallest point is around 18".
July 1, 200916 yr 3' is a nice size, spooky big but still small enough to move it around and ambush people. Very nice. Frosty
July 1, 200916 yr 3' is a nice size, spooky big but still small enough to move it around and ambush people. Very nice. Frosty CAREFUL ABOUT WHO YOU WOULD AMBUSH! SOME OF MY FRIENDS ARE ARMED! :o
July 1, 200916 yr CAREFUL ABOUT WHO YOU WOULD AMBUSH! SOME OF MY FRIENDS ARE ARMED! Oooh! Sounds like I'd need to incorporate motion sensors and a silly string shooter for your friends. Besides I'd never do an ambush joke on the armless, they just shriek and I really love the arm waving and dropping things of someone who's just had a good fright. Frosty
July 1, 200916 yr Author You guys will love the trapdoor spider I'm making right now. It will be crawling out of my water meter "manhole" cover! Think the meter readers will like it? Thanks everyone for all the props.
July 1, 200916 yr Author One of my friends started to attack "Spidey" with a newly forged tomohawk, then decided he needed a bigger axe!! :D
July 2, 200916 yr i love that spider!!!! its fab - the legs are brilliant - peoples gardens need more stuff like that...
July 3, 200916 yr Nice... I need one of those in my driveway to scare away the REAL spiders & scorpions. Seems like some of them are almost that big! Where in E. Tenn are you?
July 4, 200916 yr Author I'm just a few minutes from Bristol, TN. Also, a few days after I put the spider out I found two real black widows, comlete with babies! So they must think they found a big sister!:o

August 21, 200916 yr My wife asked "how long did your wife beat you after ambushing her?" other than that, looks real good. Inspirational even:cool:
August 22, 200916 yr That is Great!! I love it. I've gotta try something like this. Thanks for posting. Mitch
August 22, 200916 yr Welcome aboard Hotride, glad to have ya. Very cool headache rack. You could make the spider ride on the roof facing back and it's eyes can light up when you put the brakes on. If you'll click "User CP" at the top of the page and edit your profile to show your location it can make a big difference. IFI is represented by more than 50 countries and a lot of info is location specific. Frosty
