  1. Great wedding gift but you may be right - you may be in hot water with the bride...
  2. So this is my first project from my class that actually got hung up. I made a hook for my wife to hang her keys on in the barn. Nothing fancy but she really likes it. BTW JHCC - nice card holder - I may have to "borrow" the design if you don't mind.
  3. You will definitely want to clean up the primer/primer pocket/case. Primer compounds vary but here is a list of chemicals in my Federal primers sitting on my bench: Normal Lead styphnate Barium nitrate Antimony sulfide Lead thiocyanate I would guess in the height of WWII - they used what was the most efficient and reliable - not what was the cleanest.
  4. Both knives look great - thanks for posting.
  5. Have you tried Pinterest? Search for blacksmith projects and there are thousands of ideas.
  6. Great video - thank you for posting. As someone completely new to this I am just absorbing information and this helps!
  7. Incredible work. Thanks for sharing!
  8. Thomas - thank you for the information, I will have to look those up. Since Troy is an hour from me I will definitely put that on my calendar.
  9. Hello, My name is Mike and I am looking to learn as much as I can. I live in southwest Ohio and keep myself busy with woodworking and beekeeping right now but after taking a welding course and a machinist course I am looking at metal working to maybe complement woodworking pieces. I am signed up to take a course in blacksmithing and don't have anything set up yet but I figured this would be a great place to read about what works, what doesn't and ask questions.
