  1. Yeah lookin at that map puts in in perspective! I didn’t realize they had that much dirt up there! on a side note I’m pretty sure Oklahoma beats Alaska on vastness of cows an chickens!!!
  2. Lol I had to google that too Scott! that was a word in that card I got and I’d never heard of it before either
  3. Lol Rojo, you made me look up Oklahoma, Wiki says it’s 68595 square miles! Shaina, I’ve wondered the same thing about how people from here fly over an travel all over Europe, I guess i didn’t realize that everything was smaller and closer together there! on the world map it always seemed bigger to me for some reason, the I got to see a lot of countries when I was in the navy but the only ones in Europe I got to go was Spain and Greece Jerry I didn’t realize Alaska was that big a place!
  4. Wow! Learn something new every day! I always thought it was a much bigger place!
  5. Really? I thought the Netherlands was a lot bigger than that?
  6. That’s interesting Bob! I wonder if you can’t make an adjustable pipe jig that has the extra holes In it that you couldn’t weld a hardy stem on an leave the tooling post alone?
  7. Thanks! imma have to try that now an see how bad a spoon I can make!
  8. There’s an older professional smith named Bill Fraboda up in westville north of me that told me that some kinda older vacuums where all the craze decade’s ago for hooking up to forges I don’t remember what brand exactly but he told me they were variable speed and I think he said they were DC motors but it’s been years and I don’t remember exactly what he said either way I wonder if that didn’t spark off form that popular mechanics article? I subscribe to their magazine currently but I’m lucky if there’s one article in it worth reading, They are mostly advertising for sale stuff now days,
  9. Nah!!! i yacked with Thomas earlier on the phone! he had assured me that he’s still got an appetite for real food! as of today! infact he said he wouldn’t mind a bite of BBQ at the B&B joint up in Fayetteville just east of me, he said something about he’d rather have it in person than have it shipped out to him! lol
  10. Ground beef lookin rice crispy treats sounds like something we need to put on the menu for next Halloween!!!!
  11. Awesome Scott! im glad to hear that they have made it to NC! there’s two color Schemes of the cards I sent out and I just picked the colors at random so I hope everyone likes what they got! Lol So far I’ve only had one card returned to sender out of a crate load and it was to someone here local to me, I don’t know what went wrong but I’ll call them up and see what’s up with their address
  12. 50 minutes wouldn’t Even get me to the closest city, I could make it to several small an medium size towns but that’s about it
  13. Hey that’s pretty slick Rojo! what stock did you forge that from?
  14. Yep your definitely acting like your normal peachy, perky, happy go lucky self! Bahahaha!
  15. That bigger one looks like it’s be fun to use as a square Bowl swage block!
  16. after forging a few s hooks The First tools I would forge for a solid fuel forge like your wanting to use would be a coal rake, fire poker, and handle for a watering can, you will want the s hooks to hang these tools on the forge, the coal rake you will be using constantly the watering stick you will want to control your fire so you don’t burn up a lot of fuel unnecessarily these will teach you some basic forging skills and give you the tools to learn fire management with, Also making all these doesn’t require anything but a hammer anvil and something to cut with, you don’t even need tongs unless you have some to start with, because you can make these fire tools from longer stock
  17. Oh it’s great! It’s a handy little dude to have around the forge! So far I’ve used the dish form to do sleigh bells and it worked awesome! I’ve used some of the half rounds just for straightening up some tools too i haven’t tried the spoon forms yet but that’s on the to do list
  18. Awesome! I can’t wait to see it! yeah it’s a funny story how we came to the decision to buy those cards! on a side note I’d thought I’d mention that the cards we sent out are designed and printed by a small business in Ohio using paper products produced by another small business! Which I thought was pretty cool! I like to support small businesses whenever and wherever I get the chance, even if it costs a little more to shop with them, mom an pop shops Rock!
  19. That’s Awesome Bob!!! I’m curious, what would you use the extra holes for?
  20. I got my first Christmas card in the mailbox today!!! it was a very nice Hemidemismiquaver!!! Thank you!
  21. Hey now that’s pretty slick!!! you got me wanting to try that out!
  22. I got the room George! loosing heat isn’t really an issue either cause I’ve got a lot of different forges to work with I can just set up another forging station next to the tool post Your spot on Shaina that’s the setup in the west corner! An your right the treadle hammer is over in that direction so a tool post will have to be setup elsewhere and have a separate forge to use with it, that all being said with the exception of the treadle hammer nothing is bolted down and I have tractors!!!! Lol so I can reconfigure the smithy an play around with placement on stuff if I don’t like where something is!
