  1. Tiger brand blower, home made forge out of a 45 gal drum. The seller threw in a small 4" vice and a couple pairs of tongs. All of which need some TLC .

Thanks Frosty for the reply . I have most of the stuff I need to build a propane forge only short a few bricks [ LOL]. I all ready have a little one I built a few years ago but I have out grown it. I was just curious about what he was using as insulation having not seen anything about it on the forums here . The other video of using that stuff to make a one brick forge the guy really needs to look at your T burner plans. jmac

I watched a couple of YouTube video's using this product as a refractory or just drilled a couple of holes in it to make a minnie forge. Can somebody decode this information into something I can understand . [The Ytong Energy PLUS blocks are produced from Sand, Lime, Cement and Aluminium Oxide. The outher layers are made from Aerated Concrete with a density of 340 kg/m3 the the core is made from a highly insulating Autoclaved Aerated Concrete with a density of 115 kg/m3 The thermal conductivity 10 dry is (P=90%) : 0,0899 W/mK ] Thanks jmac

    Frustrated

Take a look at this way .lots of practice with tapering, hammer control ,pretty easy to build

  15. LOL I live in Canada little town called Avola in the rocky mountains but thanks for the offer. And thanks Kozzy and John B for the info its pretty much what my research has lead me to. I checked into blade repair guy he is 90 miles away so I,m going to try it.I.l post some pics off try. But first I have to get that vice out of the vice
  16. Thanks for the reply's guys.I probable could find someone with a blade welder but I have never fix one so I,d like to give it a crack .
  17. So I live in a small town [28 fulltime residents maybe 35 in the summer] The old go to guy is all crippled up so I,m it now. One of the nabours brought a band saw blade over for me to try and fix off his little sawmill. One inch blade, unknown material probable one of the cheapest blades out there . Any one fixed one before .I understand you should forge weld them back together that's about all I know. Any tips tricks or advise would be appreciated thanks
  18. Ya use the ferul rite on the mig tip it,s a tight fit but it go,s on.I have had that old harris regulator for 25 years and it was used when I got it allways have used propane may be a couple acetylene bottels threy it.Mind you if your cutting using propane and oxygen you do need a special tip

    Vise - C/L find

At least its not as xxxxxx as the one I picked up,it is missing the spring and I think one wedge. I,ll post a couple pics then you can see how they go together. Mine was broken at one time and the back jaw twisted up and out of shape. Instead of heating it up and twisting it back to shape they just welded it up ,the jaws are a way out of wack so I,m cutting her open and going to heat and try and twist back in to shape. Yours should be a easy fix {Ya rite LOL} The wedge is just a chunk of flat bar with a slight taper on the edge. The spring if you can find a old small trailer or car leaf spring you should be able to make one up jmac
  20. Great looking burner thanks for the plan. Couple little hints instead of using a flare fitting try using a compression fitting 1/8th to 1/4 NPT I believe, you can adjust the mig tip by moveing the compression ring up or down the tip. Get a assortment of tip size, I started with a 35 I,m down to a 25 it seems to work well. I also use a Acetylene regulator on my on my propane tank I can regulate it down to 7 lbs from there I use 1/4 ball valve to control flow. That being said I,m only heating 160 cu inchs but I can light the forge throw in a RR spike and sit down roll a smoke have couple sips of coffie takes about 4 1/2 mineuts to get hot enough to forge. I am using a bit of a different design then Frosty.s T burner {I got it off the hard core site} but they both are pretty fool prof in design and build. My 2c oldshove
  21. I,m up in Avola just getting flashed back up after a 5 year break. john
  22. Try running a tap in the hole cut some threads in it.Then just heat the rivet for the interference fit .
