  3. Little late checking out your shop pics, cool looking shop and im not talking about the snow outside.shop set up is left to the smith and what works best for him and as you do different projects your shop seems to evolve around the project.one of the ways to see how your shop preforms is to have anther smith work in your shop and then you will see how well your shop flows, small changes that make your shop just that little bit better and safer.....best regards
  4. Welcome, thanks for sharing your work with us ,its clean it flows ,very inspirational thanks again.

  6. Vasaline might be the way to go ,Ive been involved in restoring engin rooms of old tug boats were thiers alot of brass ,copper, site glasses and so on which we would cover with vasaline and then spray the engin room, wipe the vasaline off later....thanks best regards

  8. Thanks for the come back so quickly. This is an out door piece, theirs will be alot depth and weaving of the kelp and eel grass[like the gate it is free form, the kelp and eel grass will create the borders].prepainting some of the pieces and bending the workable steel is a good idea and touch up later,i do mask and use the card board method. The wax or latex painted, sprayed or smeared on the rocks is a good thought, removing it later might be the hard part........THANKS for your time and thoughts
  9. Recently i built a garden gate, it was a marine theme with kelp, fish, crabs and so on.At the bottom of the gate I was going to incorperate some rocks from the beach, well buy the time i was ready for them it was to late ,I couldent figure out how to spray the gate with out getting paint on the rocks,so i ended up leaving the rock out.Anyway on to the next project, same theme only a sculpture about 6 feet tall and 2feet wide at the base. This time I will be incorperating rocks for the base and intertwinig them with steel.Any ideas on how i should tackle the painting process. Thanks in advance
  10. You won,t have any problem selling that anvil if its in the shape you say its in.Just dont sell it to an auctioneer or any type of dealer.Ask a fair price, and sell it to some one like your grandpa who in return will get many years of use out of it.[it could be the old boy just down the road].....THE BEST OF LUCK

  20. Firstly my apology to any one,if my frustrations of getting my hammer up and running seemed negitive towards the hammer, that couldnt be further from the truth. My problems were small and easy to fix.I have spent the last two day working with my new hammer and love it,and is great addition to my shop.I have spent 27 yrs commercial fishing off shore swinging very heavy traps in all kinds of weather, vary phsically demanding and hard on the body.To top it off I had a bad motorcycle wreck, breaking 26 bones and 4 dislocations.I highly recomend this hammer to any one with injuries, arthritis or what ever ,your body will thank you.It takes up little space and packs a big punch. My thanks goes out to James.r.Johnson[AnyangU.S.A.]who has taken the time by phone and email to help me set the hammer up.SteveH the Canadian dealer for [Anyang] was a pleasure to deal with and very supportive. AND THANK YOU to all the member of I forge iron with the positive input and support that helped make the installation a success. Its time to get back to work and start saving my pennies for the anyang 41-40.BEST REGARDS
