  1. here is the new forge blower i bought off ebay its a buffalo and i greased it ur really good... got it for 80 bucks(shipping included)
  2. make it taller. i never had ay problems with coal smoke hurting my throught but make shure you have a good ventalation fan in the shop at the top middle aera or just one in the doorway for now

  5. well i have a mini transmission for a go kart (toy) that you spin one shaft slow and the output spins fast...you would need something like that...you would prolly need to make a bracket that bolted on and off and then you could interchange... i think its a really hard job for anyone to do but i dunno....
  6. hehe ive awlys wanted eo make hofis woop tongs for all size stock..it would be nice to have a pair of tongs for every size stock up to 2 inch..... maby ill start stocking up to!
  7. well i was just thinking chromic acid kuz my dad has a huge tank of it that he uses to clean off headders and engine parts (prolly spelt it wrong) ive messed with the acid b4 and it seems pretty powerfull..
  8. ya i guess kuz ive had my piece ripped from my hand and thrown at the wass al my hand sucked agaist the wire wheel(ouch) the rod i use is about 5/16 and is a shiny silver...i find when i wire wheel it off the shiny allmost completely comes back...i am also going to try to leave my items in the acid like the bp and ill try vinagar to... Would cromic acid work also?
  9. my dad gave me a 5 min show on how to mig and left me alone! i was at the time building my forge so some of my beads suck but it all holds.only thing i dont like bout my forge it the side draft hoods made from 8th inch plate and weighs 70 pounds and same with my forge...angle iron and plate... i have not learned to stick or o/a or tig but my dad does have an old lincon so i just need to find it somewhere in his old messy repair shop...its older than me!

  12. well i have lots o scale and i was wonderin if i could melt it back into steel along with my grindings from the chop saw?

  14. ok well i am at the stage now where i can start to maby sell stuff so i need to know how to quench.. i ushally just drop my thing im a tub of water when im done... i want things that are delicate like a small leaf hook to be strong so when the owner is hammerin it in if he misses and hits the leaf it wont shatter... just need to know how to make things strong and last..i paint alot of things also..i use cheap paint (2 49 a can) unless it will be used heavy duty.. also if i want to paint a bbq fprl is it safe to paint the fork end or shpuld i keep it unpainted and real shiny

  18. well bbq things dont get as hot and i heard they have somthing bad in them thats unhealthy.. i would stick to the actual charcoal or coal Johnw what do you mean coal and bricketts fines?
  19. i use my grinder allmost everyday its a 6 " bech grinder.... i would recomend u get 1ive also got a drill press bansaw 14" chop saw compressor 2 mig welders an arc welder... i never use a prill press and find that the forged work is just tbo solid to drill!
  20. well ive never lost any thing yet but i was working on some pipeinf and drilling little 1/4" holes in it when the bit slipped and i drilled a nasty chunk outa my thumb...bled alot and hut for a few hours but i got over it just continued working did that 3 days ago!

  23. well my vulcan has a 10 there to and it weighs 110 pounds so maby yours it a 110# vulcan like mine? looks allmost the same as mine
