  1. Hello Jason and welcome to the site, You'll probably want to make you some tongs and tools to forge with, You can find all kinds of good idea's in the Blueprint section. I also have a drum forge, and it works pretty darn good. I have a squirrel cage " Heater Motor" outta a 64 chevy truck, and it supplys the air..
  2. Wow, You are a lucky Man. And its good that your stuff was recovered. I think I would buy a couple gift certificates for the neighbor, Yes its good to have good neighbor's....
  3. I guess I'll put my 2 Cents in here. From what I know about Blacksmithing / Metal Fabricating.. You have to be pretty darn talented to make a good living at it, Plus have alot of knowledge and a shop with tools that can get the job done, I would suggest the medical field, and just do the blacksmithing as a Hobbie, Thats my thoughts on this subject. and I hope you make a good decision.

  6. I know some of you all have small things you make to put money back into the hobby . and I thought I would start this tread so that we could all exchange idea's . anything to make a buck off. like hooks and stuff...Thanks in advance for your input..
  7. It looks good and I agree with Frosty, just use it, The bondo will come off as you hammer...

  11. Thats what I have, A brake drum forge works pretty good. I use a squirrel cage outta a 64 chevy truck for air, Once I get my shed built I'm going to try and build a permant one.

  18. Me being new to this , and this being a hobby , I try to make my own, I have made three or four pairs. and they work, But are to big, When I get home and start the vacation I'm going to make some smaller ones. I got some blueprints that Iron Surgeon post, and I'm going to try his idea's ...
  19. your shop looks good. I want to build me one in the future. I got some of those flat square blocks that I'm going to put down in the floor they are about a foot by a foot. and I think they will work good.
