Close up of base of base -
Inspired by architect Charles Craig, glass by Jennifer Thomas and ironwork by Jim Pigott. Material was 5/8 round steel bar. Rust patina from muratic acid.

Hey Richey, Happy Holidays to you. We don't have plans to go that way for Christmas but will pretty soon. I will make sure we contact you. I have been on the road a lot this year and just had rotator cuff surgery so I have been looking forward to sitting still for a while, now that I have an excuse. Hope we see you soon Jim

Hello Roger, I haven't seen you since ABANA Kentucky. I hope we have the opportunity to show you a good southern welcome at the conference. Brian Brazeal will be our demonstrator. He will lead a two day class on May 27 and 28 and the conference will be on the 29th and 30th. We have a wine and cheese party on Friday the 28th which you don't want to miss. We will have a lot of good food and drink, show and tell, iron in the hat and a lecture by Brian. We have a very nice facility at the Agricultural and Forrestry Museum in Jackson and have facilities for camping on the grounds with hotels very close by. Call if you need anything else. I am working on a project reproducing, from an old photograph, an 800 foot wrought iron fence. We purchased several tons of old ship anchor chain re-rolled into 1"round, 1-1/2" round and 1"x3" flat bar from Chris Topp. This is a high grade iron that can actually be worked at much less than a welding temp without splitting, well very little splitting. It is expensive. I don't have the figures by the pound but by the foot it cost us $25 for the 1', $35 for the 1-1/2 and $75 for the flat bar. We have an armed guard over the drops. :)

I was on either utube or myspace and saw 12 videos of someone, probably you, making a set of armour. If that is you, I am impressed....... I just looked it up again, it was utube and you have some special skills. Thanks so much for posting the videos, I watched one after the other and am fascinated to see iron move like that. If you ever want to come to Mississippi we, the Mississippi Forge Council, will pay your way and demo fees. Hope to hear from you. Thanks again for all the effort to post those videos.
