    Hi all. I want to formally introduce myself. My name is Jeffrey Bly. I'm originally from Albany, NY and have relocated to the Richmond, VA area. I have be tinkering in smithing for 2 or 3 years now and want to go pro. I have been to a couple of the BGVA meetings now and plan to attend monthly. So if you see me there, please introduce yourselves to me as I'm looking to jump in with both feet and get to know all of you in the area that I can. I have plans to start my own business and need all the guidance and encouragement I can get. I'm sure I'm in the right place. Thanks.

    If you missed this one you probaly missed one of the better demos. Randy toughed out the heat and brought to all that attended a very good demo that had no trouble holding everyones attention. He is one of my favorites and I think the 70 or so people that came out would tend to say the same. No meeting in july David Tucciarone doing forge welding fundamentals in august.     4th Annual Yesteryear Hammer In September 4-5 2009 MARK ASPERY => DEMONSTRATOR "I started to forge metal in the metalwork room of my high school in the UK in 1974, it was my third year at high school. I developed a great passion for the work, not as one would expect, out of an artistic bent, but out of a love of physically making the steel move. The ability to shape metals at heat, with their plastic qualities fascinated me. Upon leaving high school I started as a blacksmith with Charles Watts and Sons, Rugby, UK. He was here at the colonial rendesvous with Peter Ross , Ken Swartz , Clay Smith,in november 2008 and was so well revieved that we are bringing him back .
