if you have not put your deck on,I believe I would figger out where I wanted what to come through and cut my hole while on the ground
and put in a couple of blocks between a couple of rafters
I like my floor model drill press but would not turn down a bench top.lay it on its side an clamp it in the vise an you can turn stuff down with a hacksaw an file
macbruce that looks like a cne I made well over 30 yrs ago.I am sure it is not tho.I used the cone off of an OLD belt drive feed grinder.it had a 6" pipe
I unbolted the dust separator on top, flipped it over and hung it in the shop.no back or sides.just hanging above the forge
just got back on after posting the questions the other day.I want to say many thanks for taking the time to draw, photograph and explain
this to me/we/us. you did a good job,I can see and understand how you got the slug ut out now.thanks
yea buddy!makes sense now. I was trying to figger out "how in Sam Hill" you could drive that thru and punch out a slug
but I did not know you made 2 cuts at it. I woulda wore myself out by tryin to drive all the way thru. many thanks for taking your time to lay this out
heavy copper electical wire will work for rivets the size that used to run from the tranformer to your house
and had a rubber an cloth cover. drill your holes then split your handle at the spoon end.counter sink the
holes on both sides. peen them over good then file of the excess.
if you use wheels, drop your handle down lower than your doubled fist hanging straight down.so when you pick it up you can walk normal an not hunched over.the TC is heavier than what I figgered so it should last for years
Phil I tend to side with you on having it towards one end.gives you a bit of support for longer pieces
the wheels I put on mine are I think 8" they may be 10 came off of a junk tiller.my yard is soft but have not had
problems moving it yet.I have no inside place to put or store mine.my frame work was a stand of some sort I picked up made
from 1" sq. tubing.I put mine in the center causeI wanted some slope from all 4 sides to the center that is also the
reason I used expanded metal. which I also have on hand.it is SS so the cement will not eat it up.it was a store window cover
in its earlier life.If I had the cash I would have used a piece of tank steel then would not have to use cement.cheap cat litter did not work.to much shale or chat.If I had had the plate I would have prolly made a square pot like yours, but went with the auto torque
convertor instead
just be careful lifting it with the chain rigged like you have it.if it had any cracks it may split wide open.2 slings may be better plus maybe a spreader above to keep the sde pressure off.that sucker sure looks good. just would hate to see some "after" photos
