  1. Gosh, how did I miss a good dad joke?
  2. Haha, very good. They'll go out within a week, just waiting so I can send em all out at once.
  3. Oh, I just liked the think it would compliment her knife well - I have only done about 4 in the past, not my favorite
  4. Thanks guys, and yes now I'm kicking myself in the butt about the lanyard hole
  5. Stephanie's second knife: 80CrV2 with black G10, red diamondwood, mosaic and copper pins. She followed it up with a black kydex sheath. Next for her is a kitchen knife.
  6. I'll PM yall in a moment. The seax is yours Frosty
  7. Collaboration blanks round 3 - fellow knifemakers, if you want one to finish yourself let me know and she's yours!
  8. Haha, couldn't stop laughing Frosty. Thank you all for the kind words
  9. The darkest blade I've ever made, death in the night. Forged 80CrV2 finished in Dura-Bake enamel, black G10 scales with mosaic and copper pins. "Mango knife" This customer had a favorite knife with a very specific shape that he used to prepare fruit, I replicated the blade with superior steel and updated handle shape. 15N20 blade with copper, buffalo horn, and Brazillian bloodwood. Comments and critique always welcome
  10. Marlene's is 52100 with walnut and copper, plus she adapted hers to have a thumb rest. Lee's blade is thick 1095 with antler. Lee proudly showing off his seax - that smile says it all He and his wife just wrapped up their first knives today, and boy are they sharp! I am finding couples classes to be very fun, and will definitely offer more variations soon.
  11. Great work, and of course I am a sucker for making your own handle material haha
  12. Dave did a great job taking my heat treated blade with cast-on handle and turning it into a real knife. Man, these collaborations have been really fun, it's been neat to see what people turn my blades into.
  13. WOW! Looks great man, can't wait to see ya there!
  14. Well said. I think I'm going to make that student fabricate the guard with me, all the while showing him pictures of gruesome machine shop accidents. I'll do it before lunch too haha
  15. Has anyone made a cover for the top slack area of their grinder before? A student today made me a bit worried. I have a rule about no slack grinding at all, and he didn't attempt that - instead while working on the tip (standing off to the side of the grinder) he would grind, quench, and the inspect the blade by rotating all around, looking at it from all sides, occasionally not paying enough attention and managing to nick it on the slack. He did it three times, each time I got on him about how dangerous it was etc... but that third time especially could have been bad if it had caught on the belt. I don't know why he refused to step back from the machine after each bit of grinding, but I could tell the third time also scared the xxxx outta him and he straightened up from there. I want to nip this problem in the bud and build a bracket or cage for the top that doesn't interfere with swapping belts, and was curious if this may have been a familiar problem for anyone? I have a Bader B3 Theo
  16. Looks good.. from what I can see lol Get us some better pics!

  19. I've been on a waterjet binge, making all sorts of wacky handles, some even wilder ones are to come!
  20. Thank you all! The handle material is alumilite, cast in 4 sessions. Loving the bug idea
  21. Lavender horse bowie and autumn kitchen knife Waterjet and then forged 5160 spring steel with integral guard. Autumn leaves and lavender cast into the handle window. Also part of the series is a ram and boar's head, so keep an eye out for those coming up soon Let me know what yall think, Theo
  22. So I had actually taken it to a sandblasting place after HT... they wouldn't take it because it was oil quenched and even a drop will cause their fancy medium to clot or something. I thought that was some BS, but they did give me some other ideas that sorta worked
  23. Woops, forgot to add the last several videos!
