  1. Hmm I had a look at Daniel Gentiles plans for the Krusty, it seems like the springs he used were straightened. Maybe the best sollution would be to contact Daniel and ask how he did it? FERRUM D. Gentile: FERRUM D. Gentile Bb
  2. Heat up to red and hit with hammer! If you have a forge you can heat a small section at a time, then put it on a flat hard surface and hit with the hammer, if it loses colour return to forge. Bb
  3. Thank you Colleen! I had a look at your website- I like your work, you are very talented! Thanks Aaron I would never have thought of that! I have some black pipe Ill be sure to try it! Andre

  5. http://www.iforgeiron.com/forum/f7/small-gifts-4479/ Hi Archie I made these for gifts, they are easy to make and you can carry them around. Also you can use the twists as handles for small bottle openers. Bb
  6. Hi hibjib10987! I use coal and Ive worked with charcoal before. One thing different is youll probably use a lot less coal than charcoal- coal doesnt burn out as quick as charcoal does. The other thing is clinker. No big problem though, just clean out the fire now and then and it shouldnt be a big issue. And then theres smell- it depends on what quality coal you have- bad coal have a lot of sulpher in it so it makes a lot of stinking yellow smoke when you first fire it up. So make sure you have enough ventilation! Thats just my opinion fwiw! Bb
  7. Merry Christmas to all from sunny South Africa, looking foreward to another year of learning more from IFI! Bb

  9. Came up with some small easy to make gifts- keyring holders! A pinapple twist, a cube twist and a leaf.
  10. I attached my post vice to my forge with a g-clamp, that way i can remove it easily and store it inside at night since my forge is outside under the skies
  11. Ive also made some punches and drifts from h13- real nice steel just remember to work it yellow and dont quench- it goes very hard and brittle if you quench, like you said Sam aircool and thats it! Great stuff! Bb
  12. For leaf keyring holders you could use anything from 1/4 to 1/2 inch round or square, depends on how big you want the leaf to be. Bb
  13. Thanks from me too! Ive learned, am still learning, a lot from this site. Its been a great help to me! Andre
  14. Here in South Africa the law favours the criminal. Its extremely hard to get a licence to own a firearm legally for self protection, yet not much is done to lower the amount of break ins and highjackings by criminals with illegal firearms. Bb
  15. Hallo Mr Smith! Great idea with the bowl thing thanks for sharing! Do you have any other how to projects? If you do please post them, people like me need all the help they can get! Thanks Bb

  17. Hmmm- story of my life-most of my t shirts have holes in them from welding-even though i wear a closed overall long sleeve jacket over them. Those welding sparks just go in everywhere, overhead welding and grinding in confined spaces are sure not friendly on tshirts... Jayco ive got some shirts that look a lot like yours- still has a couple of welding hours left.... Bb
