whitewill1412 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Just want to say happy father's day to all the dads here. I love being a dad and I hope you all have a great day. Quote
CrazyGoatLady Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Happy Father's Day to all the Dads here! And a special happy Father's day to the unsung heroes like my husband who is a step dad and is now raising his nephew. Men in those situations don't get the credit they deserve. Here's to celebrating you too Quote
George N. M. Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Thanks Will. Martha and I weren't trying to start a family but we were being a little casual about not starting a family. Now, 33 years later I'm really glad that it happened and that I have had the experience of being a father. George Quote
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Happy Fathers Day Just talked with my oldest boy who lives in PA, he called earlier and I must have been taking a nap. So I listened to his voice mail and called him back. How can I have a boy who is 59 years old with his kids 29, 25 and 14. Now talk about feeling old. We had a very good and long conversation and they are all doing very well, guess I raised both boy's right. My youngest is 57. Then I figured out what was causing them. I can't control the wind, all I can do is adjust my sail’s. Semper Paratus Quote
Frosty Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! One of my only regrets in life is not joining your ranks. Frosty The Lucky. Quote
Daswulf Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 I honestly didnt get anything from the kids today until later and their mother did get them to get me a card. It was great. Just the thought. My 6year old wrote happy fatters day on the envelope lol. No offense to any Canadians but I read it in a Canadian accent. Which after reading it just sounded funny to me. I need the laughs when I can get them. Loved the card but the part about the tv remote isnt me. I don't watch or control the tv for the most part. Quote
CrazyGoatLady Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Aww that's too cute Das Irondragon, I'm not a Dad obviously but my little boy is 30 years old and he's my baby. It's shocking how fast time goes by Quote
George N. M. Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 My little guy is 33 and 6'1" and I keep wondering where that little boy who I carried on my shoulders went to. G Quote
CrazyGoatLady Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 My boy is 6' 4". I'm 5'3". One of his friends that I met for the first time when he was a teenager walked in the door and just stopped and looked at me. He pointed at my son and said how did that come out of you!? I told him he wasn't near that big when he first came out lol Quote
Scott NC Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Well, a belated Happy Father's Day to you all. I enjoyed a long phone call with my daughter. They say distance makes the heart grow fonder. CGL, I second the step dad comment. Very much so. Quote
BillyBones Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Hope everyone had a good Father's day, spent with the kids or with Dad. Spent the day with my daughter and SIL. They live a couple hours north of me now so i do not get to see them as much as i wish. Made kabobs on the grill and while not paying attention got them quite well done, oh well, not every thing is going to be perfect so we just try and enjoy the things that are. Quote
whitewill1412 Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 I spent the day with both my boys(26,16). We just hung out at the house. My youngest put together my gift. A new gas grill. Now I have a good reason to keep an extra propane tank on hand. Quote
