Hey everyone - new member from North Texas ! I have mainly been a welding and machining person, but just got bit with the blacksmith bug and am looking forward to learning the skill/art !

 

I was fortunate enough to find (in my amateur opinion) a real good condition Lakeside anvil to kickoff the learning !

Howdy back from a fellow Texan! I'm up here about 30 miles from the Oklahoma border. I don't know anything about Lakeside anvils, but it sure is a beauty. How much does it weigh? And anyhting in particular you are interested in making?

As I recall "Lakeside" was a rebranded version of one of the big name American makers. (HB???), at work and so I don't have my copy of AinA handy.

I have ex in laws in Dallas. Got some good friends that live in Sunnyvale. Most of our folks live within about a 30 mile radius between Gainesville, Dexter and Whitesboro. And an aunt in Borger out in west Texas
