like i really need to do this!!!!!!!!!!!
i act as if i have nothing to do but play
well here it goes
bored out a hole to press fit a socket in with 3/4 square drive
machined a cone from 3 inch stainless , cut at angle welded to front
machined the top off nice and flat and smooth
drill four 5/8 diameter mounting holes
oh well 50 going on 13 years old

Shoot, that socket hole is crisper the the one my "real" anvil has.

Did you forget to bore the pritchel hole? ;)

That thing looks almost Colonial! How much does it weigh, 20lb? Would be great as a loan-to-beginners anvil.

Wow! It is nice the things that can be made when you have the right tools for the job. Much better than the rail anvil that I started with years ago. Chris.
