Beardedblacksmith
Does anyone know a brand? Im guessing trenton or arm and hammer. I can’t find any marks besides under the forged welded plate on both sides it stamped. #390 let me know what you guys think thanks in advance! It has handling holes in the front and back. ThomasPowers
Trenton as I don't believe A&H ever used that type of base indentation. I think the 390 is an user mod, esp with the # mark---does it weigh 390 pounds?
Beardedblacksmith
Its definitely at least #390 I cannot even get it to budge from a deadlift. Its 36 long by 14.5 tall and 5.25 wide. I can’t find marks anywhere I think on the foot I see a little bit of numbers but im not entirely sure
Daswulf
Try getting a good picture of the side with the horn to your right. On my trenton only the upper half of the diamond of the name stamp is visable.

Though I garentee it weight 350. I couldn't lift mine easily, I am surprised you were able to get a photo of the bottom.
Fatfudd
Is there a number stamped under the horn ?
MC Hammer
Don't Trenton's usually have a bell shaped concavity on the underside of the base? The exception of course being the early German Boker Trentons.
ThomasPowers
We usually call that a "caplet" shaped indentation like the pill shape. And the Boker Trentons usually have a deep hourglass like the one shown. Some Arm & Hammer anvils also have the caplet as the two different manufacturers were in the same city and shared bases from time to time. I have a clearly stamped A&H with a caplet indentation. Black Frog
Boker Trentons do NOT have an hourglass shape to them. They were forged bases with flat bottoms. Some very early U.S.-made Trentons also had forged bases, before switching to the first style of cast base.
