Jason Fry Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 I know that treadle hammers and power hammers are better at different tasks, but for my knifemaking, I'm thinking I'll sell my treadle hammer once the power hammer build is completed. I have no idea where to price this thing. It's a commercial build, but I don't know who or where, etc. Where should I start, price wise? This is an old picture, before I tuned the springs to hold the head up like they're supposed to, and before I added bolt on die plates for a set of combo dies. Quote
beaudry Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Good tool if done right . This one looks pretty light , worth a couple hundred bucks .. maybe. Quote

ThomasPowers Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Take it to a conference and see what folks will pay for it. Quote
Judson Yaggy Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 That is a Jere Kirkpatric (Valley Forge) treadle hammer. Don't know if he's still around. Google it. He made them commercially and sold the plans and a kit for same back in the 90's and early 2000's. They were around $700 25 years ago. I sold mine a month after buying my first fly press. Quote
JHCC Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 He’s still selling the plans on his website, at least. Quote
