January 27, 20188 yr What's the width of the jaws? A spring and mounting hardware are not bad to make. I've made a few and even a couple handles. There are a couple ways to make them. Choose what works best for what you need.

January 29, 20188 yr Author yes I won't be using the wheel, it's just for display. I thought about what could happen if that wheel came apart..........noticed there is some kind of err, walnut guard down there in front of the seat.

January 30, 20188 yr With a natural stone wheel---YES To get FPS for major grinding they used huge stones turned---by waterpower in the old days---fairly slowly in RPM. The diameter gave the speed to the edge.
February 1, 20188 yr Author I haven't cleaned the post vise up yet but I did test it out and it works great. I found some printing on the screw box, I am wondering if it is a replacement screw box? No printing anywhere else on the vise.
