January 4, 20188 yr Maybe this is in the wrong section, but thought I would post a pic of my new guillotine tool. Post moved to the right section
January 8, 20188 yr Leave a way in the bottom holder to remove any scale or debris. Drill a hole in both the top and bottom die so they can be wired together as a set when not in use. If you have only one set of dies it is not as important as if you have many sets of dies. Yes you can mix dies but you still need to identity the matching set.

April 19, 20188 yr I like how streamlined it is! Nothing more than you need, and exactly what you need. My design..... not so much!
April 20, 20188 yr Author Yes it is really nice. Check out Glen at GS Tongs dot com. He make a lot of really nice tools.
April 20, 20188 yr I’m planning on buying a few of his tools. His hot cut tool (and all of his top tools) is made out of h13. He lives in Taipei and is able to have them machined cheaply. He builds his tools with stock machined to his specs. Since I don’t have a power hammer but I want an H13 top cut, his for $30 or so is an attractive option when I consider the cost of the steel and my time.
April 20, 20188 yr Author Lou, I have a complete set of his handled top tools and am really happy with them. They work flawlessly and as you said I think are really well priced.
April 20, 20188 yr If you get the chance could you measure the dies on the guillotine tool and let me know their dimensions? If they work with the thick leaf springs I have I just might buy that thing. Thanks! Lou
April 20, 20188 yr Author Lou my forge is up country about 300 kilometers away from Bangkok where I work, so wont be back for a couple of weeks. Easy way is just to shoot Glen an email, he will give you all of the details. Neil
April 20, 20188 yr Thanks. I was about to email him when I thought to ask you thinking it might be a quicker answer. I was being lazy and selfish
April 20, 20188 yr Author Not at all, if I was in my shop, would have gladly checked it out for you. Neil
