Charles R. Stevens
Good, that seems to be the sweet spot on a hearth. Are you planning on putting 3-4" of dirt in the bottom? Or are you notching the sides?
Frosty
Beat me to it Bluesman, that'll teach me to give Deb a ride to work. Looks good Dillon, lacking a little OD maybe but . . . It's going to give you plenty of room, I like it. Frosty The Lucky.

JHCC
I overheard a man in the Cleveland airport advising his companion, "You have to live your life so that you have either a great time or a great story." Words to live by.
Dillion Brian Grant
Lol nice, that really is a good creed to live by Mine is, if you don't smell like smoke, metal and fire at the end of the day, then you are doing something wrong
Charles R. Stevens
I would think smelling of fire might be a bad thing...
ThomasPowers
Depends on the smell; My Pastor smoked 400 pounds of brisket for the church's Country Fair and folks were following him around just sniffing! (Sold out too, I took the last two pounds home to use in a pot of brisket and beans!) OTOH my wife likes it when I come in with a whiff of coal smoke around me. She knows I will be in a very good mood. Burned structure, burned garbage or burned person are NOT good fire smells. (and I'll throw in a gratuitous Big Bambu for those of a certain age in reference to my Pastor's smoking the brisket)

No they are not, im on my volunteer fire department so yeah i can definatly vouch for you there homestly a burning person is the worst smell ever, if you smell it once you will remember it for the rest of your life
Charles R. Stevens
Smelling of smoke is one thing, but as fire makes the smoke as a byproduct, I would think smelling fire would be on the stupid idea list, as it would be quickly followed by the smell of burnt hair and there after burnt flesh...
