September 5, 20178 yr Larger magnets are also avalable, it's nice to be able to hang a tool or shoes instead off dropping them on the ground.
September 5, 20178 yr Have you tried the super magnets for this purpose? They are rare earth magnets. (Neodimium usually). They are a small diameter but they are very powerful. SLAG.
September 5, 20178 yr One dosnt want to pull off ones chaps trying to get a nail... i use the big round ones used to hold wide load signs on. Try a truck stop or a heavy equipment parts house
September 5, 20178 yr Never got into the habit of using a magnet on my apron. I usually put them in my mouth. And if I'm working on a sensitive footed horse, I'll put them in bees wax or hoof packing. Helps them drive in a bit smoother. Foundered horses seem to like it
September 5, 20178 yr I have magnets all over my hoof stand. And have been known to use my drill to drill pilot holes for the nailes on the tender ones
September 9, 20178 yr Quote Just nit pickin' about the use of the word "chaps." I've gone out with other shoers who wore chaps, but I never wore them; I used an apron. The apron covered my crotch which made me feel a little better than if I wore chaps which are not closed at the crotch. To each his own.
September 9, 20178 yr I Put a big round magnet in mine that is strong enough to hold a rasp or a not-too-heavy shoe. I think it is quite handy.
