I think the best bet doing this kind of work is a welded wire armature. If anybody is tempted to take a chance using plastic for a form, read up on Phosgene poisoning.  http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/832454-overview

Thanks Nodebt, please do share your work. And what Frosty said about the ant. How big is it? If I'm seeing the gears right they look like spider gears so it's probably a big ant.

Hey, that ant is about 3' long overall.  Sorry, i probly should have posted that on it own thread.  Look forward to seeing how that armodillo comes along!
