"chinese" cleaver

Featured Replies

hello!

here's a Chinese inspired cleaver. the material is O1, the bolster is forged from iron pipe, the handle is boxwood. I put a lot of pictures, it's always hard to choose the few best ones

Really nice.  The bolster from iron pipe is especially well done.

That is a lot nicer than any cleaver that I've seen in a Chinese restaurant.

Beautiful!  The bolster is definitely what draws the eye in and sets the piece apart.

That is a beautiful knife

awesome blog spot too

Very impressive!

I've squished a lot of pipe and it's never come out looking like that.  I'd love to see more on how you shaped it.

That is fantastic.  Like everyone else said, the bolster really sets it off.  It's form, and the way you inletted into the boxwood are very impressive.

Very well made especially the bolster! Have you used it yet?

Very nice also like the bolster. What size of stock did you start with for the blade.
