August 21, 201510 yr Aha; it's obviously intended to break dwarfbread into pieces suitable for throwing at enemies! To much Terry Pratchett? ID Couldnt get the vid to work mate.
August 21, 201510 yr Author there is another thread with the vid on because of the 'FORBIDDEN' problemas a person who is more than one TP character and I used to own another character, have wrote a book which Terry did the intro to I say you cant have too much internal spacer fitted to cylinder 2 and toolholder, also pipe couplings done.on the power pack I have replaced the foot switch with one that has a center off position and swapped the connectors to the solenoid valve so the cylinder will go down when I put my foot down and up when I raise it, on the first test it was the other way round.still need to finish the frame for cy 2 and add anti rotation to the rod and the limit switches but it is moving on a bit.maybe some pix later
August 21, 201510 yr Author cylinder 2 with tool holder fittedgoing back in its frame tomorrow when the rest is added
August 22, 201510 yr Author some new pix of cyl 2still need to fix cylinder in place and add anti rotation bar / limit switches etc.needs a little more under the table but most of the heavy bits are added and it is still less than cyl 1 in weight.cylinder is extended at the moment and when retracted the toolholder goes slightly inside the plate under the cylinder, travel is about 3" 76mm, table is 6" 152mm wide, at a guess it is less than 24" 610mm tall.hope to do a bit more on monday
September 3, 201510 yr Author no new pictures but a little more progress, will give you all an update on saturday hopefully
September 4, 201510 yr Author OK, just for Iana few more picturesthe anti rotation bar and mounting for the threaded rod that operates the limit switchesawaiting limit switchesstill have to fix cylinder in place and strengthen table
September 7, 201510 yr Author ok to add a little to this I now have the microswitches fitted I will use until I get the proper limit switches.also the first tool I made to enlarge a couple of holes and a piece of 20 by 10mm ( 3/4" by 3/8" ) that formed a cup
October 31, 201510 yr Author today welded on the new tool holder, finished side plates, put anti rotation bar on new tool holder.waiting for new backplate to take switches, present one has holes in wrong place.less than 28 kg ( about 60 lbs ) at the moment and not much more to addheight 61cm ( 24" )
October 31, 201510 yr You really need a picture of a lead dwarf figurine being squashed with it you know...
October 31, 201510 yr The tool holder does look the part now, did it require any "fettling" or was it a straight fit?
October 31, 201510 yr Author it was about 1mm smaller than the tool holder, fixed that with the lathe before welding.got 4 of those 'clamps' but may be looking for more in the future Edited October 31, 201510 yr by the iron dwarf typo
October 31, 201510 yr Did you check out the big end caps while you were rummaging in the bottom of those engines? Where they the 'wrong' size?

November 2, 201510 yr Firstly those 'clamps ' are just the biscuit I have 4 of differing sizes and wish I had 4 of each! dozens of g clamps and some very useful sash clamps but those are the 'go to' jobs. The press is definitely 'getting there'
November 2, 201510 yr Author the clamp is a carver rack clamp, I have over 50 of them, the largest is 2m tall and probably 60 kg at least.
