Shop Almost Done

Recommended Posts

Thought I would post some updated pics a promised in another thread.  I keep telling myself that I will get some good pictures when it is done, but I am starting to realize that it will likely never be "done" or "clean"....  Anyway, it will serve me well and is way more than I ever thought I would have. My stepdaughter did the chalkboard paint on the cabinets - the OCD side of me wants to clean it up, but it's too sweet to mess with it.  Her writing on the cabinets and the sign for the shop too.

I think the blackboard cabinet doors are a great idea, it's one of the " why didn't I think of that?" category.

(..er, thinking a little more, I'm sure I have half a tin of blackboard paint laying about somewhere....that is now destined for the side of my rather large box bellows.... Cheers for that idea Doug )

That's a handsome shop, I like the 'blackboard doors' too. Just a thought though, storing paint and varnish 'above the sparks' seems counterintuitive :D as vapors would 'settle ' to the ignition point? I could be wrong.

Good point...  I will have to move things around a bit.  Thanks for catching that!

Oh that's a handsome dog, the whole goof thing is an act he's probably smarter than most of the people you see on the road.

I like the blackboard cupboard door idea too, a real head slapper.

If you were to gasket the doors with stick on weather stripping foam rubber and vent them out the back wall I wouldn't get too jumpy storing low yield volatiles in them. Not gasoline, paint thinner, etc. but sealed oil paint is a maybe.

On the other hand not taking a chance you don't have to is a WAY gooder idea. Gasketed and vented floor cabinets might be better. Outside is best though Hmmmm?
