March 25, 201511 yr Hi all . I and my son Days F&S Forge, are new to this site. Wanted to see what you think of are duck hawk?
March 25, 201511 yr Welcome and I like it! That's a really sharp looking duck! ....Sorry it had to be said.Looking forward to see ya'lls work.
March 25, 201511 yr Welcome aboard, glad to have you. I like it, very cool hawk. The eye may be a little narrow to make a good working hawk but it'd be a beautiful wall hanger if not. I think hanging it next to the shop rate sign sort of as a coat of arms over the motto, "Pay the BILL." or maybe "Bill Collector."Sorry, that's the way my mind works, low humor maybe but you can't possibly expect a boy to ignore a tome of straight lines can you?. <grin>Seriously, it's very nice work, well done.Frosty The Lucky.
March 25, 201511 yr Like Frosty, i suggest more meet in the eye, a longer slot and draw it our with a pein in the mandril, or localized heat and upset mid bar. Maybe both, as it longer slot, and after initially opening it, take a good heat and drive the ends together to open the eye with out stretching the sides.
March 25, 201511 yr I like it, something different, made me smile. Was also thinking a fish hawk would be cool.
April 1, 201511 yr It made me think of pipe hawks and how an animal with an open mouth could hold the pipe's bowl. The aesthetics are really cool.
April 1, 201511 yr After my first Ooooh coooool reaction I thought of an adze with pattern welded feathered tail.Frosty The Lucky.
April 1, 201511 yr Very good work, I am envious! I have no artistry in me. I can make hawks but the duck part is beyond my abilities. Very nice finish on the blade. What did you start with?
