Finnr
That is a very nice looking anvil. Where are those made? The only ne I have ever seen with feet like that was a photograph of a medieval piece. Finnr
evfreek
Bonjour pascalou. That is sure a nice looking anvil, and also a good job on the weld repair. What is "ferritic-austenitic" electrode? This almost sounds like stainless. Might that be a little soft for edges that have to take some impact. I tried some 100018 Tuff-plus impact resistant HSLA rod, and it is definitely softer than the base metal. Is this a good material for affixing mild steel tool handles to sensitive hot work steels? yesteryearforge
Is that a hardy hole in the side of that anvil and if so what was or is its purpose Mike
keykeeper
Looks like a cleanout hole for the hardy hole above it, since the hardy hole probably doesn't go all the way through. Just a guess, though. aaron c.
pascalou
Hello with all, if I included/understood the question..... the square hole is useful for the "stamps" and the round hole of the top crosses the anvil, I makes use of it to place forms or my "third hand". The translation of the word for word text is sometimes surprising. A+ PL

Try Ebay item 180180721232 for one example.
