July 25, 201411 yr Yes, I had to spell it wrong to get it to rhyme, haha. Another century old file reforged into a knife; deer tibia from my uncle's hunt a year or two ago. When I first got the bone from him it was already in rough condition, to firstly I stabilized with crazy glue and vacuum chamber. I used to only do random hamons... not any more! I'm very happy with the pattern achieved. Comments and critique encouraged, Theo
July 25, 201411 yr Author I dremeled and filed the slit for the tang and guard, then poured an obscene amount of epoxy in there and set it overnight. The teeth left on the file plus the textured inside of the bone provided excellent hold for the epoxy. Originally I was thinking copper bolster/pins, but was talked down.
July 25, 201411 yr If pronounced correctly; Hamon and Bone do rhyme. Also any one that need me to corrrect spelling is in big trouble :P hamon = Haaaa- moan
July 25, 201411 yr Author YES! Finally I learn how to pronounce it right! Thank you Steve, this has been an ongoing issue for me
