Chinobi
that would be some very interesting security camera footage to watch!
njanvilman
Lots of Corvette enthusiasts are crying today. The size of that hole is amazing. The part of the cars visible look like Matchbox cars in a 5 gallon bucket.
Frosty
Seems a lot of sink holes are opening up recently or are they just getting more air time? Frosty The Lucky.
Willis
I live in north Florida. We have sinkholes here that swallow houses. My middle grandson will wear a black armband on this day from this day forward.
Chinobi
i don't think its the entire timeline because the hole in the pictures looks a LOT bigger, and you can only see two cars take the plunge, but its close! security cam's from inside the building http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/12/us/national-corvette-museum-cars-fall/
ptree
KY is #8 in sinkholes in the nation. This whole area is Karst topography. Limestone and lots of rain= caverns, and caverns= sinkholes. As a youth flying over this region in small aircraft I was amazed at the cratered appearance of the land. The "craters" were old sinkholes. notownkid
A whole lot of contractors, & engineers checking their liability insurance in that City. When I was an auto dealer there were cars I wished would fall into a sinkhole.
njanvilman
GM has stepped up and will restore all of the cars, once they figure out how to get them out. Drone footage shows three cars visible. The other five are buried. They are figuring it will take at least three weeks to assess the building, and figure out how to get the cars out.
