May 1, 201313 yr Kind of embarrassed, I told my nephew I'd like to make him a knife, and that he could send me a sketch and I'd build it for him to commemorate him finishing his airman basic. He sends me this.....going to be silly, almost a short sword.
May 1, 201313 yr The Rabbit Killer? Do they have big scary rabbits where he is? Maybe a father figure kind of guy should have a sit down talk about how a fellow does NOT want the rabbit to die unless he's married to the gal? <grin> Frosty the Lucky
May 1, 201313 yr its for the nasty Wabit in Monty pythons holy grail ! actually not bad lookin for a fantasy blade I've seen a lot worse....
May 1, 201313 yr love that you said draw it, i'll make it! very positive experience for your nephew :) something i am learning personally, the drawing and the making can be a chasm apart! yours is a great version of what he drew :)
May 1, 201313 yr I made a knife, once and only once, for another artist, "Kitten Disemboweler", she about got me strung up with that title for an itty bitty knife with a big handle, yours looks a whole lot more manly than my did but the title is still a little off.
May 2, 201313 yr Typical airman overcompensation. Just think, if he'd joined the Marines, all you'd have to make was a k-bar. Go Army. Beat Navy.
May 2, 201313 yr I wouldn't think anything along the lines of silly if someone was coming at me with that thing... very menacing, love it !
May 2, 201313 yr I'm not sure if these fellas would consider it overcompensation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvs5pqf-DMA
May 4, 201313 yr I think it's really cool that u did it. I made a machete for a friends son. I let him do a little of the work. He thought twice before saying" it can't be that hard" again. I made it out of some 5160 coil springs that he got nice and sweaty hammering flat.
