son_of_bluegrass Posted May 1, 2011 Share Posted May 1, 2011 For stuff inside, not a lot of protection should be needed. Personally I don't like polyurethane, it starts looking mass produced. ianinsa Posted May 2, 2011 Share Posted May 2, 2011 Hi Wayne, At the risk of sounding 'comercial' I have found that powdercoating is the best long term finnish if you are selling the product. If you powdercoat both the rail and rings they 'slip' well, we found that wax tends to 'bind' over time, if it is for personal use then you just rewax , but once sold? Looking at the options I am tempted to go with the laquer finish but I will run the options by the customer to see what they prefer.
