Goldstock, Do you wipe your butt? It will only get dirty again. I can tell you have never served aboard anything bigger than a row boat. A clean shop is a safer shop.

$30 anvil
Farriers anvil for sure. 2 Pritchels and a clip horn. weight and age are right. My math says .25 cents a lb for a very nice H-B (I have 2) If ya see flashing blue lights it ain't Kmart. I will be the law cause ya stole it. Ken

Railroad Track Anvil - which way to orient?
Verticle puts way more mass under the hammer. You only need an area the size of your hammer. Horizontal can be shaped like a real anvil(lots of time and effort) My bench one is 37lb and is only good for up to 1/4 in rod. You can stand it up in a bucket of concrete, Drill holes and bolt it to a bench leg, Bury it. Your choice. Ken

There is no sacrifice. Angled twards the brick creates a swirl effect for more even heating. Ken

Looks like something in the hardy hole. Take it out. Also try putting a dowel crossways under the front and back feet. Ken

Good buy?
Problem is most of the therapy is holding your stuff. Guess what? Now you need/want more/bigger/better. Have past on several anvils and there are still morethan I had(looking at a few more) I quit smoking cold turkey 20yrs ago. I can quit this any time. Air hammer for sale you say HMMM. Ken

I hear ya. Spent more time on the holes than anything else. They make great jewelers/ Hobby anvils. 50 plus hours then find a real anvil oh well they can bury me with it. Ken

Not enough o2 in lungs or compressor. I have only seen jewelers blow pipes. Blow across the flameto make a very tiny flame. Ken
