    Just got this vise. Free from a family friend.

    will do . i found some other designs i would like to try but for now i have to upgrade my forge . i only have a brake drum forge and an old hand crank tiger blower . i would like to make a bigger one on a table for more working space.

    ya i did the finishing touches with a grinder and a flapper disc, i think it turned out .

    if your worried about paint on the work, paint the sides and leave the top bare.

    it wasnt that bad i had a 4 pound mini sledge i used. I was hitting a little harder than i would steel.

    just a stump I found at my parents place. Levelled bottom and notched top down 3/8 so anvil sits down. also anchored with 4 railway spikes.

    i read some where that the spikes that have HC stamped in the top have a higher carbon content. But the old ones im not sure.

    got this blower from a old guy about an hour from where i live he said his dad used it in the dirty thirties any thoughts.

    Very nice Damascus pattern. what is good steel to use to contrast against each other?
