  1. Thanks! Yeah frosty got to know him quite well. He was a character. He told me about him skipping school and going to the blacksmith`s shop and crank his blower for him, he said the smith would yell at him for going to fast , he had a lot more details in that story but not very appropriate for the site LOL:D.   2. Here is one I made form a used lawn mower blade. Has walnut handles.

  8. Anyone notice the Side note: The McKinley track team was called the Blacksmiths. I thought that was interesting. That is a neat school shop. lol
  9. Well yesterday evening I decided I would fire my forge up. Well got er going real good and it just got coked up good and put a piece of 1/4"x1" in for a door pull for a demo coming up, got it to the anvil and was drawing a taper on one end for a spade, the tongs slipped and the piece of glowing orange steel flew up and hit my face , right under my eye and knocked my glasses and my hat off. I got a 2nd degree burn and will have a big scar. Need less to say I`am fixing to order some tongs to fit 1/4"x1" flat bar. Chris
  10. The hammer is Finally DONE!!!! I hardened and tempered it Saturday with the help of Jason AKA Ragtag. My uncle made and put a handle in it today. I will get pictures uploaded probably Wednesday. It weighs in at 2.75lbs with the handle , which is what I wanted. Chris:D;)
  11. Awesome! Forging is always fun and I think I learn something every time i step foot in to the shop.
  12. I made a knife from some mower blade. It turned out Real Well, I quenched in water and tempered in the oven. pictures ASAP
