  1. I have a Lincoln 3200hd Mig I bought from Homedepot few yrs ago. It had the converison kit inculeded. I used flux core for about a yr. before buying a 80cu. ft. bottle. I have welded up to 3/8" ( preheated it). Its been a GREAT lil machine. Its a 115. In few months I plan on upgrading to a Hobart 210 Ironman.
  2. Cbl, Before I got my euro I had real hard time trying to find anvil because the ones I found where being sold by Collectors for new prices for BEAT anvils , You have reasonable prices but MOST I have came in contact with By NO means were reasonable and were being used a yard art and its heartbreaking to a someone who would USE it that someone has a anvil is letting it rust down and wont sell it at a fair price. My .02 cents worth. Chris
  3. Tom , as most know I do things differently LOL . When I make a punch for punch HOT steel , I dont see a need in hardening it and tempering it, cause if your punchs through something thick and forget to cool off then you just drawn your temper out of it. By the way I make my punchs out of 5/8" 5160. Thats the way I do it , may not be the politictily correct way but it works for ME , and thats what I think is important that it works . Just my .02 cents worth. Chris
  4. Well going go ahead and shorten the tubing 2" havent cut it yet and got thinking and think thats what I needs to be done.
  5. Anyone know about if I need to scale the main frame down 2" since anvil is 2" shorter than the plans? Needing a answer cause fixxing start working on it some more.

  10. I think I`d go ahead and get the 335lb. Did you ask see if he had any 286lbers left? Thats the size I have and am very pleased, if I had had the extra I would get the 335lbs but the 286lb does GREAT for anything I`ve done on it.
  11. I usally cut what I need with chop saw or cutting wheel on grinder and then get it hot and starigten in the vise and then tweek it on the anvil.
  12. I`ve also done the same. Will get pics asap. What I did was bend the claws up , and then with my eye punch , punched 2 eyes

  14. Well we got the base plate cut the holes for the bolts to hold it to the pad cut , and the anvil cut to height and 4 gussets cut and welded to the anvil and the anvil is welded to the base plate, I figure thats a good start. Got a spindle gave to me and need to get a ford ranger doughnut tire also my cousin gave me a piece of 5" sq. tubing to use as the main frame instead of the I beam. Pretty much waiting to get the plans before do much more.
