Do these style of forges have firepots? From the pictures Ive seen they look like they dont and the air pipe comes up to the table and has a grate that covers the pipe. Chris

Nice lookin forge. what is the hood?

Well to start off with ,my forge hood is a old small water heater tank. My forge is built from droppings. My gas forge is built from a old 20lb. propane bottle. All my punchs and chisels are made from old coil spring. I make a lot of knives out of old files and old horse shoe rasps, and mower blade. my hot cut for my euro anvil was made out f 1 3/4" coild spring, my mouse hole hot cut is made from old truck axle. My shop is built with "scrap" 2x4s from my uncles work which where thrown out as scraps but were extras. Chris

I have a 286lb. Euro anvil. I havent used it a LOT yet , only got it bout month ago. I have used about 4 others and all of em have all been great anvils and a pleasure to work on. Some people have said they are a bit soft but I havent had any trouble with that , but I dont do ANY COLD work on it.

I agree 100% with Jeff on this subject, side draft is the way to go. I had an over head now I have a side draft , the side draft DRAWS SO MUCH BETTER than the over head.

That is REALLY AWESOME! The finish is a interesting finish also.;)
