You answered your own question- it is a Champion blower. Looks like a small one that would have been used on a rivet forge. (Unless you have real big hands)

The amount of money you spend to properly repair that anvil will be more than its value in your location. I would just find another and sell that to someone for "Yard art"

There is a problem with NR 211 innershield wire when you do multi pass welds on heavy plate. Dilution- the wire needs to be fused with the parent metal, running on heavy cross sections you will be laying beads on top of other beads. There were big problems with this in the Northridge quake that hit the LA area. This is why NR 211 is not "Recommended" over 1/2 inch base metal.
Will it work? Yes it may work. Will the weld be brittle? Very likely -
To get a good hammer you either need to make it yourself or pay someone else to do so. If you make it yourself you will understand what justifies the cost. I would look elsewhere for a hammer myself

If you don't know what it is you sure don't need one.

You can make an offer, maybe you can get there for close to that price, you will have to take their word on condition.

At $700.00 "buy it now" ? That is already cost prohibitive. I have seen a few of these in the $200- $400 range, they are well made.

Great shots peacock, I was over there when he forged the nail. I have lots of pics to share once I get them sorted out. The group photo was a total bust, we did have about 15 people ready for a shot on wed but before I could get the shot everyone wandered off. Two guys went this way and two guys went that way.
This is "Group photo" that I got -

Careful Clint, I know what you Ozzies call ''a few beers'', You don't want to wind up in the detox/therapy tent.....no bueno...... :(
No worries I can handle my own..... Well usually, I have ended up face down that is no fun. (Especially when other people see it happen) -

The old Lincoln machines are hard to beat and I have seen them go for as low as $150.00. They are heavy (two guys can not pick it up) They last forever 30 plus years in a college here in town
