Nice work thanks for sharing, I am hoping to pick up an air gun today

I like those very much! You have some nice textures (I LOVE texture) and designs there. Some pretty high grade work IMO! Especially for a group effort (where it is often difficult to concentrate as well as a craftsman working alone might).

Nice work, but how did you get it into a bowl shape without ruining the chasing inside? I don't see any "soft" face hammers.

He had some different setups to sink it. One was with this round tool, another was a shaft. Both sunk the metal into a ring. I used the shaft on mine. The circle it made on center was a little gift.

WOW! Something else to think about trying. I hope I live long enough to try all the things I have seen on this site. Do you think they have forges in heaven? I hope so! :D

Thanks for the pics Rory it looks like a good day for sure!

I only see one guy wearing hearing protection do you guys use bull horns or sign language at meetings? Maybe the club moto is. . . HUH?

Seriously though, I'm thinking I'll have to make some shaping tools for my little air hammer. I'd love to turn out some pieces like you show.

Well done.

Frosty the lucky.

Here is a link from youngdylan on the some hammers http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/topages/rivetgun2602.php

I believe we had a Chicago Pneumatic brand. I am sure you could do this with a fly press as well, depending on the stroke but could get around that with some creative tooling. The press Scott used was a 25ton and with the 1/4" plate for the bowl. We have a 50 ton at the shop that I am eager to try when things slow down.

Rory, What size is the hydraulic H frame press in the photo? Thanks
