Hey all! Happy Thursday, I was pursuing Facebook, and I saw multiple anvils with these swoopy/tapered feet. Is this specific to a certain anvil brand? Or is it just a common thing? Thanks all!

Do a web search for the Fisher Anvil Museum, NJanvilman used to post pics of new acquisitions pretty often but I haven't seen him for a while now.

Maybe someone on the forum has a copy of "Anvils In America."

If the feet are angled out, that is called 'Toed Out'. If the feet are angled in, that is called 'Toed Inn'. Sometimes you need to send your Anvil for a 'Foot Alignment' .

They generally behave better with a 'Foot Massage', before working with them. This gives them a 'Step Up' on the competition.

Wouldn't a "step up" involve a "face lift"? 

Fairly typical of anvils from Mousehole Forge and their former employees who'd set up their own shops.

Pretty normal for forged anvils from that anvil and period, well, period. My William Foster has feet like that. That one in the middle of the stack is a Mousehole - you can tell from the punched dots in between the hundredweight numbers.
