ThomasPowers
My stepson used to work the late shift at a convenience store and one night a person came in and paid for gas with a roll of silver quarters. Luckily he had the cash to exchange them. Billy did that nickel have the head of Lucius Septimius Severus on it?
BillyBones
P-nut, used to be a trick until it caught on, to go to the bank and ask for rolls of quarters, dimes or even half dollars. Fed law says that a bank can only give currency at face value. So a $20 gold coin is worth $20 to a bank even though it is worth 100's in metal weight. Anyway pick out any silver ones then redeposit the clad ones,or but pop and candy from the vending machine, and you just gained a few dollars in silver. George, i had a few appraised a while back and the most valuable one i was offered $3 for it. Maybe a total of $15 so i aint getting rich off them. Just curiosities for me really. Thomas, i had a friend who was really into coin collecting and had a bunch of old Roman coins. May have even had a Lucious Severis.
ThomasPowers
Roman coins are surprisingly cheap due to the numbers of them still around. I got one as an award once; must check who it was. Remember the tons of Roman nails that were SCRAPPED! ?
pnut
Roman coins are definitely plentiful. I received one years ago as a free gift with a subscription to Smithsonian Magazine. Pnut
