ThomasPowers Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Due to "sponsored content" searching on the web is getting bogged down and much less useful. As you probably want and old fashioned mom&pop place the older tech may be more likely to find it. Frankly I get quite annoyed when I search for EXACTLY what I want and instead get 766 suggestions of things I DON'T want. Quote
Paul TIKI Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Ain't that the truth! Duck Duck Go isn't a bad search engine. It's the default on my Linux computers and you can specify it in your browser settings rather than Google. They don't sell your information either. Speaking of, Duck Duck Go just gave the address and phone of a Metal recycling place here in town that did NOT come up in Google! I may have found a source of good stuff that I don't have to drive 45 minutes to get to Quote
Daswulf Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Thanks for the pointer to duck duck go. Switched my main search engine on my phone (my most used computer) to it on my phone and already seems much faster. I'm not computer literate and didn't know about it till now. Quote
Glenn Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Startpage is another choice as a search engine Quote
