Lou L
I just saw a video by John at Black Bear Forge and it is a brilliant tooling idea. Perhaps this is not new but I think it is worth sharing. I’ve included the screenshot of the video because it is informative of the content. The video is only about five minutes and he gives every detail you need to make your own. ThomasPowers
No not new; I've had one for about 25 years now. Mine is solid though. Good to share stuff that many folks may not be aware of though!
JHCC
I saw the same video and knocked one out this evening. Looking forward to trying it out.
Lou L
Nice! I was busy sanding knives. Two more get heat treated tomorrow. I will have one once I get through this trial.
VaughnT
I made one ages ago, then lost it in the mess. I like how he bent the leg so it wraps around the jaw to keep the whole thing from sliding. That's one little trick that I never thought of. I would cuss for hours as I was always tightening the vise down to hold things, having to reposition constantly...... Just goes to show you're never too old to learn a new trick!
BIGGUNDOCTOR
Mine is a solid block with a jaw width long bar on the bottom.
