JHCC
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City has put a pretty incredible research library online, apparently with free and unlimited access. The website is https://www.metmuseum.org/art/metpublications. The menu on the left-hand side of the page allows you to search by collection. For example, if you click the drop-down list for "Collections/Department", select "Arms and Armor", and click "Go>", it will take you to seven pages of books on that subject, all of which can apparently either be downloaded as PDF files or read online through Google Books. The American Museum of Natural History (also in NYC) has their Anthropology Collections Database online: https://anthro.amnh.org/collections The search parameters on the left-hand side allow the user to search by geographical or cultural origin, use, etc. Edited April 2, 2018 by Mod34 Additional source from comments merged into top post and subject edited. Frosty
Thanks for the link. Somewhere, when I recall a similar site, maybe this one maybe another museum. I say put them all online! Even Hugh Hefner's private museum. We just won't link it here. Frosty The Lucky.
