Bateman jeff
I pick this up at a yard sale for sixty buck, would like to make a forge and try it out. But I found a little bit about blackprince, but would like to here from the professionals. Thanks for your help. Jeff
Frosty
Welcome aboard Jeff, glad to have you. If you'll put your general location in the header you might be surprised how many of the Iforge gang live within visiting distance. Okay, you found out a little bit about Blackprince anvils. What's got you worried? Tell us what you found out you may be worried about nothing important. Seriously, you haven't even told us what it weighs or posted a pic we can get a good look at the important parts. What are the edges like? The face? what does the rebound test say? And so on. You get the idea, yes? Frosty The Lucky.
caotropheus
Real nice close up pictures, You're just missing the "general picture", in other words, you're missing the pictures that includes the whole of the anvil from the side, top, back and front... Bateman jeff
Thank you black frog. That is what I was wondering if hey budden made it, from what I found there was only 300 of them made, is that correct? I have had quite a few people want to buy it when they see it,but I would have know idea what it's worth. I really don't think I would sell it . I almost forgot to tell you all the weight under the name it is stamped 104 so I suppose it weighs 104 lb.

I have been reading on what a good anvil is supposed look like and sound like and being a novest at this I believe this is a good anvil. Mark Ling
If rebound is good, than that's what matters! now, what is your definition of "good rebound"? 40% 70% 90%?.... That's an interesting looking anvil. wide face, skinny waist, almost reminds me of a modern farriers anvil. cool! Littleblacksmith
