BlasterJoe
I tried my hand at a file knife. Actually one of the first blades I have made. I pretty happy with how it turned out. It was good enough to cut up the thanksgiving bird. I do still have a lot to learn about edge geometry. It took forever to get a sharp edge on it. Daswulf
Hey, not a bad profile. Yeah geometry of an edge would probably help from what I see but everyone starts somewhere and if you put it to use that's great. From what I see some more thinning grind would help at the edge but hey, I'm far from even knowing what I'm doing with blades lol. I just like that you got use out of it. It's all about starting somewhere and learning more.
BIGGUNDOCTOR
Looks good, but I would look at doing a flat grind on it to thin that edge down. Be careful of the teeth that are left in it as everyone of them is a stress riser and potential breaking point.
ThomasPowers
one reason differential hardening and or differential tempering can help.
