SpencerDirks
I'm seeking the expertise of the folk on this site! There is an anvil posted on a local classified page the owner seems to know little about it but claims it's 160# there are few pictures but they aren't great. They are asking 250$ CAD for it which equates to 1.56 a #. That seems like a pretty great price to me. If anybody has an idea of what this could be please let me know. Thanks, Spencer Dirks
Pac
All that doesn't matter until you find out what the rebound is. If the rebound is good, for that price buy it and figure the rest out later. My non-expertise guess just for kicks is Arm and Hammer... Black Frog
Looks to be a A&H or Trenton. If you can get a shot of the underside of the base, that would tell more. Look on the front foot under the horn for a serial number.
ThomasPowers
Also check under the heel as A&H often have the undulating surface left by the steam hammer in the underside of the heel. I agree---if it pases the rebound and ring test JUMP ON IT ALREADY! It may already be gone at that price!
