chucketn
Just joined this forum. Looking for North East Tennessee or close by casters. I've been casting aluminum with homemade greensand for a few years. Just got my first batch of Petrobond II sand an I'm having trouble with it. Would like to meet a local experienced caster to learn from. Chuck
ThomasPowers
Have you found the backyardmetalcasting.com site? It's a series of forums that concentrate on casting while this one is focused on smithing with other metal working stuff "around the edges". chucketn
Well, thank you for the warm welcome! You probably ought to delete the subforum on "Foundry and Casting" if you don't want folks to use it... I have joined every forum on foundry and casting I can find in a search for like minded folks that might have more experience than little ole me. BTW, Backyardcasting has been AlloyAve for a while now, but then you probably wouldn't know that. Happy hammering. chucketn
Are there any casters left here at all? Or were they all run off by an overwhelming warm reception like I got? Chuck
ThomasPowers
I do casting, (silver fine and sterling, copper, brass, bronze), and tell folks there are better places to go for info on it. I guess tell folks the truth is being unwelcoming.

Frosty
I wonder why the folk on all the other casting fora he's subbed to won't answer his questions?
