ianinsa
Frosty, after I had used John E's original ribbon burner I was hooked and came home and stuck one in my "large forge " now there may be numerous reasons to change BUT.... if it works weld"l DON'T TRY TO FIX IT" applies. I now make and sell a few different styles of burner and a popular model is my Frosty blue goblin T burner (credit given where its due) I've started using the K.I.S.S. principle (totally against my nature) yet it works. Mikey98118
For most people, the KISS principle should be primary; it is also very good for there to be introductory level equipment. How else would crafty low minded types like me find enough victims to lure down to the deep end of "the peoples pool"?
Mikey98118
Frosty, What you've found out about overheating ribbon burner flame blocks may bring back fans to ribbon burners, but by introducing the gas/air mix into the plenum chamber's end, they should be able to be greatly reduced in power; which automatically means that small fans should take care of the problem. Greatly reduced as in 12V, squirrel cage fans, and battery operated on job sites.
